One of the things that has intrigued us the most here at iReviews, as far as future technology goes, is smart apparel. Since our phones, televisions and even our automobiles are being retrofitted with computer systems that are capable of doing amazing things and are constantly improving our experiences, it makes sense that everything else, including what we wear, should follow suit.

In movies like Back to the Future 2, we see a future in the year 2015 where shoes can automatically lace themselves to fit snugly around the characters’ feet and jackets can dry themselves in seconds if they get wet or adjust their size to fit your body as if they were tailor made especially for you. Although the products available on the market today aren’t necessarily that advanced just yet, they aren’t very far off. Although they can’t do exactly what we see them do in the movies, as a result of the imagination of film writers and directors, there is already an intuitiveness in some of these smart apparel products that leaves these other things not very far off at all.

Although smart apparel features don’t yet reach the limits of our imaginations, it is already capable of doing wonderful things that are designed to make both our workouts and our leisure time more fulfilling. These wonderful inventions can track our heart rate and steps, control music playback and several other amazing things. They can also take the data they collect from our bodies and track them in an app that allows us to see our fitness progress and maybe even detect when something is critically wrong with our health, requiring medical attention and potentially saving our lives. Regardless of the particular applications, though, these pieces of smart apparel are sure to get even more advanced and intuitive, and this is why we have included a small sampling of them in our list of innovative products.
